La Défense Jazz Festival
The free La Défense Jazz Festival has been a major summer music event for 45 years running! With its generous approach to swing, its programming is open to all styles and best enjoyed outdoors, on the La Défense concrete square, at noon, after work on a weekday and in the evening on weekends. Blues, electro-jazz, soul, hip-hop, jazz rock, afrobeat, folk and world music… There’s something for every taste.
Django Reinhardt Festival
Experience the sounds of jazz like you’ve never heard them before in the Chateau de Fontainebleau park ! Created in 1968 in Samois-sur-Seine, in honour of the most famous gypsy jazz musician, the Django Reinhardt Festival delights fans and music enthusiasts every year. The line-up: 4 days of music, 2 stages and more than 20 groups, with gypsy jazz and other musical stylings. The festival features artists from all walks of life united by the same passion. A must-see experience to start off the summer right in Paris Region!
Paris Jazz Festival, 29 June–7 September 2022
The Paris Jazz Festival has been one of the must-see music events in Paris Region for almost 30 years! In the Parc Floral de Paris, a botanical garden in the Bois de Vincennes, seven weekends of high-profile concerts await you, most of them free during the day and outdoors. Between great jazz figures and up-and-coming talents, the festival offers a top-flight line-up in a verdant setting, to be enjoyed to your heart’s content.
Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival, 1–3 July 2022
Starting on 1 July, head to Enghien-les-Bains for the Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival, one of the highlights of the summer with around thirty concerts to enjoy. The eclectic festival features an impressive line-up of events: free outdoor concerts, travelling photo exhibitions, a jazz club, a parade in the city, and more. The biggest names on the jazz scene, from Mélody Gardot to Niles Rodgers, have already performed on the lake’s large floating stage, as well as the more intimate setting of the Casino Barrière Theatre. An event you don’t want to miss!
Jazz à la Villette, 31 August–11 September 2022
Summer comes to a close with the Jazz à la Villette Festival, the top event for fans of jazz and Great Black Music. The event features some of the biggest names in the world of jazz along with the next generation of performers, with the sounds of black music, jazz, hip-hop, soul and funk echoing from the Grande Halle de La Villette to the Philharmonie de Paris and the Cabaret Sauvage. The unbridled creativity and bracing eclecticism on display will help you cap off the summer in style!
