Description

Paris, the city of light, is hosting a dazzling exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs: ‘Christofle, a brilliant story’.
This exhibition explores the fascinating story of the Maison Christofle, famous for its exceptional expertise in goldsmithing and tableware.

An artistic journey through time

You are invited to take a journey through the centuries, highlighting the emblematic creations of Christofle since its foundation in 1830. Through an immersive and magical journey, this major retrospective showcases a selection of more than 600 pieces of silverware, paintings, drawings and posters from the Bouilhet-Christofle and major national collections. You will discover sumptuous pieces of silverware, luxurious dinner services and objets d'art that have marked the history of this exceptional house, a symbol of refinement and French know-how.

Christofle, exceptional pieces

From simple teaspoons to monumental vases and furniture for the world's fairs, each object tells a unique story. The tables, laid in all intimacy or in majesty, take us back to the splendour of great restaurants and palaces such as the Ritz, or legendary liners, planes and trains such as the Orient-Express, or the Normandie and Concorde.

Through the rooms and their resolutely contemporary scenography, you are invited to enter the places of power all equipped by Christofle in France and abroad, a true ambassador of the art of living and French luxury. Among the treasures on display are pieces commissioned by such historic figures as Napoleon III and the royal courts of Europe.

An interactive experience

The exhibition also features interactive installations that help visitors understand the manufacturing techniques and creative process behind each piece. Live demonstrations and workshops are organised for art lovers and the curious. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, and discover the secrets of this excellent savoir-faire, a symbol of French refinement.
