Description

The statue of Empress Josephine, the distinguished guest of the Bois-Préau Park, invites the walker to recharge his batteries in a 17-hectare English-style garden. This park is home to a number of rare plant species and century-old trees such as the Byzantine hazelnut tree, the common hornbeam, the Corsican pine and the giant sequoia.

It is the perfect place for family walks and an ideal setting for shows, parties and concerts. The Château de Bois-Préau evokes the memory of the Emperor in Sainte-Hélène and the return of his ashes to Paris. Last acquisition of the Empress Josephine, it accommodated her doctor and stored her innumerable collectors' items.

This island of greenery in the city centre, a subtle alliance between nature and history, is the perfect place to picnic and relax not far from Paris.

Discover the park of Bois-Préau and its Château through one of the treasure hunts in the Paris Region Adventures application specially designed for families and downloadable free of charge.

And don't miss the visit of the château de Malmaison which sheltered the loves of Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine.
