Description
South Korea is all the rage with fashionistas, and Besides Kimchi, the concept-store showcasing Korean design, is causing quite a stir among lovers of clothes, accessories and beauty products from the Land of the Morning Calm.
Besides Kimchi has set up home on Rue Saint-Martin, between the Grands Boulevards and Place de la République, not far from the Centre Pompidou.
At the helm of this venture are Bo Kyung and Charlie, lovers of Korean culture and always on the lookout for new products. Their store is made in their own image, and has three key components: an innovative concept, a product selection that reflects all the diversity of the South-East Asian archipelago and designers from Korea, Asia and the rest of the world.
The tone is set as soon as you walk in the door, plunging the visitor into the very heart of Korean creativity. With the Gat, the king of Korean hats, minimalist glasses, bags with pronounced lines, “kiki socks”, a real classic of pop culture, tableware and candles with aromas of Asia, you won’t know where to look first… or where to spend your money!
Beyond the bright, white ground floor, the basement delves into the South Korean underground. The simply designed basement area, dedicated to streetwear culture, is oozing with accessories inspired by the big K-Pop trends, as well as cutting-edge Korean designers, and all the products you could wish for to complete a Korean beauty routine. A must!
The time is right to visit the concept stores in Paris.
