Description
Album is the Parisian hub for comic fans. Located in the Latin Quarter, near the Musée de Cluny, this bookshop is the place to go for anyone who wants to get their hands on the latest instalment of the adventures of Superman, X-Men, Green Lantern and other less well-known superheroes.
The immersion in geek culture begins with the shop window which features meticulous arrangements of miniatures from all fantasy and science-fiction worlds. Sheer joy for collectors!
Inside, the décor depicts an imaginary city. Above the comics that are imported from the UK and the US on a weekly basis, Batman descends from the ceiling, attached to a cable. Further inside, a replica Star Wars spaceship appears to have burst through the wall of the shop. What better way to create an atmosphere?
At the far end of the bookshop, the comics are replaced by manga, illustrated books, art books and books devoted to the film industry. Harry Potter rubs shoulders with Studio Ghibli, while T-shirts featuring the latest popular series can be found opposite a selection of animé baseball caps. If you’re looking for a gift for a geeky friend, there’s no shortage of spin-off products. With mugs, toys and other little treats, you're sure to find the perfect gift.
Just a stone’s throw away, the Album BD shop is dedicated to the ninth art with a wide range of items ranging from the classics: Tintin, Blake & Mortimer, Asterix, to more recent titles.
